​The remains of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau death camps, where over 1.1 million people of mostly Jewish descent have perished, have been preserved to serve as a testimony of the tragic consequences of extreme ideologies, racism, and denial of human dignity.

The Pauline Monastery of Jasna Góra in Częstochowa is unquestionably the spiritual capital of Poland. Every year, millions of pilgrims from around the world, with many travelling on foot for weeks, visit the shrine in which can be found the town’s most treasured possession – the Black Madonna, a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus.

Explore Kraków Old Town, where you can find the largest Medieval town square in Europe encompassed by old tenement houses and historic landmarks, including St. Mary’s Basilica and the Sukiennice Renaissance Cloth Hall. Visit the historic Jewish Quarter of Kazimierz and the exquisite Wawel Castle, home to Poland’s resting royalty.

Not far from Kraków lies the 700-year-old Wieliczka Salt Mine, an extraordinary underground city. It features 300 kilometres of nooks and crannies, winding corridors, glistening sculptures, chandeliers, chapels and even a ballroom, all carved and sculpted in salt.
